Sérgio Cruz was born in Portugal in 1977.
He studied Sound and Image in Portugal and in Amsterdam. In 2005 he moved to London to undertake the post-graduation Dance for the Screen at The Place – London Contemporary Dance School. Currently he lives and works between England and Portugal as a filmmaker/artist, sound designer, camera operator and editor. He works frequently as sound designer with Portuguese choreographers. Since 2004 he has been creating film and video for international broadcast, galleries and film festivals. In 2006 won the Young Creators – Video area, in 2007 The Red Mansion Art Prize and in 2008 the FNAC New Talent Award.
