Tatiana Macedo (b. 1981, Lisbon, Portugal)
studied at Central St. Martins College of Art (BA Fine Arts), the FCSH-UNL New University of Lisbon (MA Visual Anthropology), The London College of Communication (BTEC Studio and Location Photography) and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Creation and Creativity Programme (Advanced Photography). In 2007 Macedo was Artist in Residence at the CAMJAP- Modern Art Centre and in 2013 at ZDB Galeria Zé dos Bois, Lisbon. Macedo lives and works in Lisbon. In 2012 Macedo completed her first Experimental Documentary film entitled Seems So Long Ago, Nancy entirely shot at Tate Modern and Tate Britain. It has been screened in several Film Festivals, Museums and Art galleries in the UK, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Macau, Argentina and Peru. A previous version of this film was screened in Amsterdam as part of the SMBA - Stedelijk Museum Bureau Video Program “Really Exotic?”, at Tate Britain as part of Late At Tate (2012) and at the Urban Encounters: Urban Materialities Conference at Tate Britain (2013).
Recent solo exhibitions include Staff Only – MNAC - MC National Museum of Contemporary Art, Lisbon (2014) and Seems So Long Ago, Nancy at Tegenboschvanvreden Gallery, Amsterdam (2014).
Recent group exhibitions include Rooms with a View – Manifesta Biennial of Contemporary Art, Amsterdam, Jaz Aqui, Na Pequena Praia Extrema, ZDB Gallery, Lisbon (2013) and Visões do Desterro, Caixa Cultural do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2013). Macedo was Guest Artist at the Urban Photography Festival in London (2013). Her work is in international private collections.
