Bio Filmografia

Ken Jacobs nasceu em 1933 em Brooklyn, Nova Iorque. Recebeu inúmeros prémios, incluindo o Maya Deren Award, uma John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, bem como bolsas do National Endowment for the Arts, da Rockefeller Foundation, e do New York State Council on the Arts. Em 1969, com a ajuda de Larry Gottheim e dos estudantes deste (um dos quais era J. Hoberman, actual crítico de cinema do Village Voice), Jacobs fundou o Departamento de Cinema da SUNY Binghamton (State University of New York) onde foi professor até 2002. Os seus filmes, vídeos e performances têm conhecido diversos palcos internacionais tais como os dos Festivais de Cinema de Berlim, Londres, Hong Kong e Nova Iorque, e Museus como o American Museum of the Moving Image, Astoria, Nova Iorque; o Whitney Museum of American Art, Nova Iorque; e o The Museum of Modern Art, Nova Iorque. Em 2004 foi o realizador convidado do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Roterdão.
