The meticulous composition of the environments™ recordings, that vouch for psychoacoustic effects that are completely subjective, challenges the aural experience of what surrounds us, with the desires and intentions through which we inevitably perceive it. It's this phase shift that is explored within the installation. Texts taken from the liner notes included in each one of the 11 albums published by Syntonic Research, Inc., between 1969 and 79, accompany a sequence of fields recordings made between 2012 and this month, including the ocean surf in the Portuguese coast, forests in Germany, glacial water streams in Iceland, thunderstorms in New Mexico, Stromboli's vulcano, cicadae in Sicily, and our pulse. Between real time and synthesized sound, from artificiality to the reterritorialization of our experience.
